About Trăian Lalescu

A prominent personality of the Romanian school of mathematics and engineering, a reader of higher education institutions, a patriot in the true sense of the word, his biography Trăian Lalescu is a dense concentrated biographyă in far too few years of life - only 47.
Throughout his life Trăian Lalescu published a whole series of scientific articles and books in various fields: functional equations, trigonometric series, mathematical physics, mechanical geometry, algebra or history of mathematics.
Contest "Trăian Lalescu" has a long tradition in Romanian education. It was organised for the first time in 1962 and was interrupted between 1989 and 1996. Since 2008, with the support of the "Trăian Lalescu"The competition is run at national level.
