About Traian Lalescu

Outstanding personality of the Romanian school of mathematics and engineering, founder of higher education institutions, patriot in the true sense of the word, his biography Traian Lalescu is a dense concentrated biographyă in far too few years of life - only 47.
During his life Traian Lalescu published a whole series of articles and scientific books in various fields: functional equations, trigonometric series, mathematical physics, mechanical geometry, algebra or the history of mathematics.

The Traian Lalescu contest has a long tradition in Romanian education. It was first organized in 1962 and was discontinued between 1989 and 1996. Since 2008, benefiting from the support of the "Traian Lalescu" Foundation, the competition has been held at national level.
